GET THE HAY OUT OF FESCUE COUNTRY

MARCH 9 & 10
SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI
HAWTHORN PARK HOTEL

Taught by Jim Gerrish, author of the best-selling book Management-Intensive Grazing, the school is designed to present the "whole" necessary for a profitable grass-based operation in fescue country.

Subjects to be covered at this school include:

How to maintain a legume component in fescue.

  • How to establish and maintain crabgrass in your fescue stand.
  • How to stockpile fescue for wintergrazing.
  • How to ration out stockpiled fescue to eliminate hay feeding.
  • How to decide whether or not to eliminate "dirty" fescue.
  • A review of the rescue species available and their advantages and disadvantages.
  • How to fight flies and internal parasites - naturally.

Developing a fescue-based farm or ranch is definitely a game of "first things first." We promise you'll save yourself thousands of dollars in unnecessary expenditures and years of frustration by making this school the "first" thing you do.

The total tuition to this school is just $300, but $100 will hold your reservation. The balance is due February 23, 2007.

The Hawthorn Park Hotel, where the event will be held, is offering a discount rate of $72 per room if booked before February 15th. Call the hotel direct at 417-831-8131. Be sure to tell them you're with the Stockman Grass Farmer Group.

The school starts Friday at 6:30 p.m. and concludes Saturday at 5:00 p.m..
